Efficiency of SurgiCube airflow device to prevent COVID-19

SurgiCube International offers the SurgiCube® clean air device which filters the air using multiple pre-filters class G3 and F7 and a HEPA-filter class H14 which results in preventing airborne contamination at the protected clean air area. The HEPA-filter class H14 efficiency has been tested according the EN 1822 standard and shows an efficiency of filtering at least 99.995% of particles sized 0.18µ. This size is known as MPPS, which stands for “most penetrating particle size”. This is the particle size which is most difficult to capture for this class of filter and it was calculated at an air velocity of 0.45m/s. Bigger and smaller particles do have an even higher efficiency percentage as shown in the overview:

The coronavirus correlates to particles sizes from 0.05µm-0.15µm and these particles – as well as many different sizes of potentially harmful particles – are captured by the SurgiCube® filter(s) efficiently. It is the conclusion that the SurgiCube® is an efficient airflow device to be used for minimizing the spread of airborne contamination, including the latest coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
